Dr. Patrick Del Duca, selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2010-2020, is an experienced cross-border regulatory attorney seasoned in multi-cultural and multi-lingual deals and regulatory challenges that reach across disparate bodies of law. He possesses particular depth in financial, privacy, corruption, and environmental matters. His problem-solving perspective often results in clients calling upon his regulatory talents in compliance, investigatory, M&A, joint venture, project development and finance contexts.
Dr. Del Duca’s capacity to achieve complex deals across common and civil law systems, and to assemble disparate multi-national components into high-value global solutions to regulatory problems, is unique.
He teaches as an adjunct professor, most recently an intensive course on negotiable instruments in the summer program of the Universidad de Los Andes law faculty in Bogota, and previously international finance at UCLA Law School. He is the author of choosing the language of transnational deals: practicalities, policy and law reform, a book published by the American Bar Association.
Previously he was a Partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips and Kelley, Drye & Warren. He clerked for Judge Alfred T. Goodwin of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and Justice Antonio La Pergola of Italy’s Corte Costituzionale. He holds leadership roles within the International Section of the American Bar Association and serves as a member of the board of the ABA Rule of Law Initiative.
