Stephen Weaver focuses on obtaining rights for entities seeking to develop, manage, or sell their land. He focuses primarily on land use, zoning, construction, and real estate matters.
Mr. Weaver has extensive experience with matters involving interpretation of the California Environmental Quality Act and the National Environmental Policy Act, as well as state and local municipal codes, writs and other types of litigation related to the use of land, easements, development agreements, acquisition, due diligence and obtaining permits through various state and federal authorities, and other federal, state, and local development and environmental laws. His clients have included developers, retailers, hotels, special effects studios, clubs, individuals, hospitals, restaurants, contractors, and public entities.
Over his career, Mr. Weaver has litigated hundreds of cases throughout the country, often obtaining large judgment awards, as well as attorneys’ fee awards, for his clients.
Mr. Weaver’s litigation experience frequently informs his counsel to clients relating to property transactions, allowing him to more readily identify issues at the earlier stages of transactions and development projects that might otherwise become points of contention in the future.
