On July 28, 2022, following a two-week trial, Zuber Lawler secured a jury verdict awarding over $3 million in damages for its client Auto Konnect, LLC, against BMW of North America, LLC for breach of contract. Auto Konnect was a vendor that provided dealership training services for BMW from 2008 through 2018, growing that section of its business from 4 employees in 2008 to 38 employees in 2018. In December 2018, BMW hired all 38 of Auto Konnect’s employees providing dealership training services in breach of a non-solicitation clause in the parties’ agreement. Before trial, the Zuber Lawler team obtained a grant of partial summary judgment for Auto Konnect on liability, leaving the amount of damages for trial. The jury determined that Auto Konnect should be awarded damages of over $3 million for BMW’s breach of contract. Auto Konnect was represented at trial by the team of Jay Maloney, Jeff Zuber, Brian Beck, Radhi Shah, Minerva E. Cornejal, and Debora Sanfelippo.
